MATTHEW GARRISON RELEASES NEW LIVE VIDEO ALBUM | ||
| World renowned bassist Matthew Garrison, best known for his work with Joe Zawinul, Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny and more recently as a sideman for Whitney Houston and as leader of his own quartet, has released a new audio-visual solo album. Filmed in a warehouse in New York, the project features Matt utilizing multi-layered sounds via his bass, effects, loops, laptop and striking video projections.
Filmed in high definition and recorded in surround sound ‘Shapeshifter Live’ is the first of a series of new projects he is embarking on that will be available through his soon to be launched Music Centre website. The latter has been in development for some years now and will feature extensive instructional video material created by Matt demonstrating many aspects of his playing and music. PINO PALLADINO JOINS JASON REBELLO QUARTET AT RONNIE’S BRIT JAZZ FEST | ||
| Continuing the Pino theme we’re pleased to hear that he’ll be part of a special band appearing at the Ronnie Scott’s Brit Jazz fest on 7th August – joining former Sting and Jeff Beck keyboard maestro Jason Rebello in a jazz fusion quartet. The band will be completed by A-list session siblings guitarist Paul Stacey and drummer Jeremy Stacey who have worked with the likes of Oasis, The Black Crows and Sheryl Crow, here playing some cool and funky fusion. THE BAD | ||
| Long time friend of the boys at The Gallery, Dave Swift bassist with Jools Holland, and top player, popped in to share his latest exploits, and to tell us about his new electric double bass, the Volante which will be coming to The Gallery soon. He's not really bad, but keeping up the Eastwood theme, it was either that or ugly! Dave seen here with his Bruce Johnson bass currently for sale at The Gallery.
