After completing his HND in Modern Fretted Guitar Making at the London College of Furniture Martin began hand-crafting fine custom basses going by the name of Sei Bass in the workshop of The Gallery in 1992. Martin has now made over 350 custom instruments for musicians all round the world such as Pino Palladino, Paul Turner, Randy Hope-Taylor, Oroh Angiama and Julian Crampton to name but a few. Martin also has extensive repair experience and can advise you on your next custom bass or any repairs or modifications to your current instrument.
John Chapman joined the Gallery in 2001 and has learned all aspects of instrument construction and repair. John is an experienced guitarist specialising in electric and acoustic instruments. In addition to crafting JChapman Guitars John, along side Martin is responsible for instrument setup and repair.
Alex Carter is the manager of The Gallery. After five successful years as manager of the Bass Centre Alex joined The Gallery in 2003.
In addition to being an expert bass player he has extensive contacts within the music industry and has developed the portfolio of well known and highly regarded esoteric instruments, amplifiers and accessories from around the globe.

We believe that all bass players are different and therefore have different requirements so we carry one of the widest range of instruments, amplifiers and accessories to suit beginners and professionals alike and stock a large number of pre-owned and vintage basses. We don't believe service ends with a purchase and always ensure that a customer is satisfied, both with the purchase and the after sales care. All new instruments are set up to a customer's specification and all pre-owned items and repair work are guaranteed against faults for 3 months from date of purchase.
